Russian Academy for Children

Our Russian Academy for Children teaches children from the age of three up to pre-school age about the Russian way of life and Russian culture. Music lessons are designed around classical works by exclusively Russian composers (a Russian pianist leads music-based lessons at the school's own Steinway piano). In addition, children learn how to deal with numbers and have their first insight into the Cyrillic alphabet. Teachers at our Russian Academy for Children are, without exception, trained teachers of Russian and orientate their lessons to the learning goal of promoting general child development, both in the musical and mathematical context. Furthermore, the course consolidates and further develops Russian languages skills. The play-orientated lesson also consists of movement games as well as musical and rhythmic activities. The alternation between play and structured learning also eases the children's primary school entry later on.

What we offer: Grammar lessons; advancement of logical/mathematical skills; musical education; encouragement of creativity; preparation for school entry. Registration fee (for the first course): € 15 (including learning materials).

Lesson structure

In addition to general development support, children are introduced to the Russian language and culture. The comprehensive learning programme covers all the most important aspects of age-appropriate general development for children from the age of three through to primary school age.

The focus of the lesson is consolidation and further development of Russian language skills as well as advancement of logical/mathematical abilities, creativity and early musical education (supported by a Russian pianist at a Steinway piano).

The play-orientated lesson also consists of movement games as well as musical and rhythmic activities. The alternation between play and structured learning also eases the children’s primary school entry later on.
